Based In Ilfracombe, North Devon, Sash Window Services specialises in the restoration, double glazing and draught proofing of traditional timber sash windows. I have 30 years’ experience in sash window restoration of period, conservation and grade II listed buildings. I look forward to discussing the available options best suited to you and your property.
My aim is to significantly improve the thermal performance of your timber sash windows by sympathetically restoring them, using traditional carpentry techniques – combined with modern, sympathetic materials. I wish to strike an appropriate balance between energy conservation and building conservation.
We’re based in North Devon, and offer our sash window repair services to customers across Somerset, Devon, and Cornwall.

We offer a range of services, from a basic maintenance package, including replacing cords and pulleys, through to a complete overhaul, including taking your timberwork back to bare wood and re-painting.

Double Glazing & Draught Proofing

If you wish to maintain the traditional and architectural identity of your property while looking to further improve thermal performance and reduce energy bills then your windows can be modified to enable double glazing with your traditional sash window frame.
Period Doors
We are often asked to rescue period front doors that have fallen into disrepair. As the first impression of your property, it’s essential to restore them to their former glory.
We cut back the rotten timbers and treated the remaining wood. New wood is then spliced in and finished with a durable elastic repair compound ready for painting.

Sash Window Services is run by Steven Baldwin, who has over 30 years experience in carpentry and joinery. His passion is repairing and restoring sash windows.
Based in Ilfracombe in North Devon, Sash Window Services works with clients across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset to keep their Sash Windows in prime condition.
